Most companies find out about a bad review, a Reddit thread or a journalist's mention days after it went up, usually because a customer or a sales rep forwards the link. Brand monitoring tools exist to close that gap. They watch the web, news, social platforms and forums for your name, send an alert when something new appears, and the better ones tell you whether the person was happy or furious.

I compared 14 brand monitoring tools for this roundup, from free Google Alerts to Brandwatch contracts that Vendr's purchase data puts at a $50,000 median per year. I checked every price on the vendor's own pricing page on October 16, 2026, mapped which sources each tool reads, and went through G2 and Capterra reviews for the complaints that never come up in a demo. I haven't run these tools in production myself. So this is a research comparison, and wherever a price comes from a third party instead of the vendor, I say so. If what worries you is how ChatGPT describes your brand rather than what people say on X, my comparison of tools that track AI answers covers that side.

Two things surprised me. Mention, which shows up in half the roundups currently ranking, stopped being sold as a standalone product on July 1, 2026, a year after Agorapulse bought it out of receivership. And Brand24, the usual budget pick, now starts at $199 a month and belongs to Adobe by way of Semrush. A lot of older lists still quote 2024 prices.

Nobody paid to be on this list, and there are no affiliate links.

What Is Brand Monitoring (and How Is It Different From Social Listening)?

Brand monitoring is tracking where your brand name, products, founders and campaigns get mentioned online, then doing something about those mentions. Brand monitoring software automates the searching. You give it keywords, it scans news sites, blogs, forums, review sites and social networks, and it alerts you when a new mention shows up, usually with a sentiment score attached.

Social listening is the bigger job. Monitoring answers "who said what about us today?" Listening takes the same data over months and looks for patterns, like an onboarding complaint that keeps growing or a competitor taking share of voice in your category. Most of the enterprise platforms below do both. A lot of the gap between a $29 tool and a $50,000 contract is paying for the listening half, plus the analyst time it assumes you have.

A third category gets mixed into these lists: brand protection. BrandShield, Red Points and ZeroFox hunt for counterfeit listings, phishing domains and fake social profiles, then file takedowns. That's closer to security work, and I've left those tools out.

Why pay for any of this? Speed, mostly. The 2025 Sprout Social Index found that 73% of social users say they'll buy from a competitor if a brand doesn't respond on social, and you can't reply to a mention you never saw.

There's an SEO reason too. Every unlinked mention a tool surfaces is a site that already knows who you are, which makes it the easiest link request you'll ever send. I'd go further: an unlinked mention on a site real people read is worth more than a linked mention on a site nobody reads. The mention is the signal and the link is a bonus. If you'd rather hand that outreach to someone, start with the link building services I've compared.

How I Evaluated These Brand Monitoring Tools in 2026

I started with 29 candidates. That's every tool named in the four roundups ranking on page one for "brand monitoring tools" (Apify, PageCrawl, Mentionlytics and The Rank Masters), the seven brand protection vendors on Cyble's list for the same term, and two community trackers, Syften and F5Bot, that none of the roundups mention.

Fifteen got cut. The seven brand protection tools went first. PageCrawl is a page-change monitor, Apify is a scraping platform, and Google Trends measures search interest rather than mentions. SE Ranking, BuzzSumo and Determ overlapped with tools I kept, Hootsuite's listening now runs on Talkwalker, and F5Bot moved to the free section.

Source coverage counted most. I listed which networks and media types each tool actually reads on its entry plan, because "monitors social" can mean X and Facebook only, and Instagram coverage often stops at business posts with hashtags. Reddit got extra weight. The OppAlerts study of about 167,000 domains found Reddit posts correlate at +0.128 with AI search visibility, so threads about your brand matter beyond the people reading them.

Price came next, and pricing transparency with it. Nine of the 14 publish a price list. Brandwatch, Meltwater, Talkwalker and Mention don't, and Sprout Social hides the price of its Listening add-on. For those I've used Vendr's purchase data and labelled it.

Then alert speed, since a daily digest is fine for PR reporting and useless during a customer meltdown. Mentionlytics' cheapest plan refreshes every 12 hours, Syften aims for under a minute on Reddit, and Ahrefs emails daily or weekly. Then noise control, meaning Boolean queries, exclusions and sentiment you can correct by hand. Seats and history came last, because they decide whether an agency can run 20 clients from one login.

Brand24 ranks first because it reads 25 million sources in real time, including podcasts, newsletters and TikTok, at a published price, and its AI visibility add-on covers nine AI engines, more than any other monitoring tool here.

One disclosure. I run SAASY LINKS, a SaaS link building and brand mentions agency. It doesn't sell a monitoring tool, and none of the 14 vendors paid for a spot.

Brand Monitoring Tools Compared: Pricing and Coverage (2026)

Prices are the cheapest paid plan, checked on vendor pricing pages on October 16, 2026. Where a vendor publishes nothing, I've used Vendr's median contract value and marked it.

The pattern in that table: published prices cluster under $500 a month, and every tool that covers print, TV and radio is sales-gated. If you need broadcast coverage, budget for a five-figure annual contract. If you don't, you're paying for it anyway on Meltwater and Brandwatch.

The Best Brand Monitoring Tools in 2026

Brand24: Best for All-Round Brand Monitoring

Brand24 is a brand monitoring tool from Wrocław, Poland that tracks mentions across 25 million online sources in real time, from news and blogs to TikTok, podcasts and newsletters. It suits marketing teams and agencies that want broad coverage at a published price, with sentiment built in and an optional AI visibility add-on.

Pricing starts at $199 a month on annual billing for the Individual plan, which covers 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions a month for one user. Monthly billing makes it $249. Team, at $299 a month annually, is the more realistic starting point because it adds unlimited users and 10,000 mentions. The free trial runs 14 days with no card.

The AI side is what separates it from the Brand24 of 2024. The Chatbeat add-on tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, DeepSeek, Grok and Copilot describe your brand, and an MCP connector lets your own AI assistant pull live mention data. Complaints on Capterra and TrustRadius are consistent, though: sentiment misreads some posts, Facebook coverage has gaps, and Spanish-language coverage is thin.

Ownership has moved fast. Semrush's PR arm Prowly bought a majority stake in April 2024 and held 100% by February 2026, and Adobe closed its Semrush acquisition on April 28, 2026.

Customers: Uber, Hostinger, Piwik PRO, HypeAuditor. Founded 2011 by Michał Sadowski, Piotr Wierzejewski, Dawid Szymański and Karol Wnukiewicz. G2 4.6 from about 355 reviews.

Mentionlytics: Best for AI Visibility Tracking on a Budget

Mentionlytics is a bootstrapped web and social monitoring tool, started by three university professors with offices in London and Crete, that adds AI answer tracking to standard mention alerts. It's the cheapest way on this list to watch X, TikTok, Reddit, podcasts and ChatGPT from one dashboard, which suits small marketing teams and solo consultants.

The Basic plan is $49 a month billed yearly, marked as a limited-time offer against a $69 list price, for 3 keyword rules and 5,000 mentions. The catch is refresh speed. Basic updates every 12 hours, Essential ($169) every six, and only Advanced ($299) and up collect continuously. AI Visibility is an add-on from $49 a month for 25 prompts on Essential and above, covering ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, with Perplexity and Copilot only from the 250-prompt tier.

Coverage is wide for the price: news, blogs, forums, nine social networks including LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads, plus Telegram and podcasts. Review sites like Trustpilot cost extra. Reputation Insider's review found it missed some press coverage, and the number of paid add-ons makes the real monthly bill hard to predict. Mentionlytics also publishes one of the roundups I audited for this post, and it ranks itself first there.

Customers: Zurich, Lidl, Ogilvy, Eurobank. Founded 2016 by Manos Perakakis, John Kopanakis and George Mastorakis. G2 4.9 from about 110 reviews.

Awario: Best for Cheap Social and Web Coverage

Awario is a social listening and brand monitoring tool from the team behind SEO PowerSuite, and it crawls 13 billion web pages a day on its own infrastructure. At $29 a month on annual billing it's the cheapest paid tool here with social, news and web coverage, built for small businesses that want Boolean search without enterprise pricing.

Starter is $29 a month annually or $49 monthly, with 3 topics and 30,000 mentions. Pro jumps to $89 annually ($149 monthly) for 15 topics, 300,000 mentions and 10 users. Every plan gets Boolean search, white-label reports and API access, which is unusual at this price. The trial is seven days, no card.

The feature I'd actually pay for is Awario Leads, a feed of people asking for product recommendations or complaining about your competitors, with a reply button next to each one. Coverage is X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, news, blogs and forums. There's no TikTok or LinkedIn. G2 reviewers, who rate it around 4.0 across fewer than 50 reviews, mention missed mentions, shaky share-of-voice numbers and a strict no-refund policy.

Customers: Chanel, SAP, Typeform. First released in 2015 as a spin-off from SEO PowerSuite. Awario reports 6,000+ customers.

Brandwatch: Best for Enterprise Consumer Research

Brandwatch is an enterprise consumer intelligence platform from Brighton, UK, owned by Cision since a $450 million deal in 2021. Its archive holds 1.4 trillion posts going back to 2008, which makes it the strongest choice for large brands and research teams that need historical trends as well as today's alerts.

There's no public pricing, no trial, and contracts are annual. Vendr's data across 40 deals puts the median at $50,000 a year, with a range of roughly $19,500 to $81,200. By median contract, that's the most expensive tool on this list.

Coverage is why people pay it. Brandwatch reads 100 million-plus sites, the major social networks, review sites from Amazon to Glassdoor, about 3,000 TV and radio channels, and premium print news. Image analysis picks up your logo in photos where nobody typed your name. Cision bought Trajaan in December 2025, and Brandwatch's Search Intelligence product now tracks how LLMs cite your brand. The downside, per GetApp and Capterra reviewers, is the learning curve. Queries need regular maintenance, and a badly built Boolean string floods you with noise.

Customers: Virgin Holidays, OnePlus, BBC, Omni Hotels. Founded by Giles Palmer and launched as Brandwatch in 2007. G2 about 4.4 from roughly 710 reviews.

Meltwater: Best for PR and Communications Teams

Meltwater is a media intelligence platform founded in Oslo in 2001 that combines news, social, podcast and broadcast monitoring with a journalist database and influencer tools. It ingests 1.3 billion documents a day, and it's built for PR and communications teams that have to prove coverage to leadership.

Pricing is quote-only across Starter, Pro, Enterprise and Agency plans, with demos instead of trials. Vendr's data on 126 purchases shows a median of $25,800 a year, ranging from about $5,400 to $57,000. Read the renewal terms before you sign. Trustpilot and Capterra reviewers complain about auto-renewal with 60 to 90 days' cancellation notice and steep increases at renewal, one reporting a 69% rise over 18 months.

Its edge is breadth on the PR side: 300,000-plus news sources, more than 25,000 podcasts, print and broadcast, plus the Klear influencer platform it bought in 2021. GenAI Lens runs custom prompts through ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot every 24 to 48 hours and shows which sources those answers cite.

Customers: NASCAR, Canon, Shiseido, Western Union. Founded by Jørn Lyseggen and Gard Haugen, taken private by Marlin Equity Partners and Altor in 2023. G2 about 4.0 from roughly 2,500 reviews.

Lumen by Talkwalker: Best for Visual and Broadcast Listening

Lumen by Talkwalker is the Luxembourg-built listening platform Hootsuite acquired in April 2024 and has since renamed. It covers 150 million websites and 30-plus social networks across 239 countries, and its image, video and audio recognition is the most developed on this list, which suits global brands tracking logos and broadcast mentions.

The full platform is sales-gated. Vendr puts the median contract at $13,298 a year, though its sample looks small. If that's out of reach, Hootsuite sells a lighter Lumen Lite inside its own plans from $99 per user a month billed annually, with a 14-day trial.

Coverage includes print, broadcast, podcasts and around 100 review and customer-feedback sources, and the Wisdom AI assistant summarizes what changed. The CMO's review notes a learning curve and says tagging and sentiment often need manual cleanup. I couldn't confirm whether Lumen tracks ChatGPT answers directly. Its MCP connector goes the other way, letting ChatGPT and Claude query your listening data.

Customers: Orange, Yves Rocher, Thomson Reuters, Kaiser Permanente. Founded 2009 by Christophe Folschette and Thibaut Britz. G2 about 4.3 from roughly 137 reviews.

Sprout Social: Best for Teams Already Managing Social in Sprout

Sprout Social is a Chicago-based social media management suite, listed on Nasdaq, with a Listening add-on for tracking brand mentions and topics. It makes sense for social teams already publishing and replying in Sprout, because mentions land in the same inbox where they answer customers.

Seats cost $199 a month on Standard, $299 on Professional and $399 on Advanced. Listening is sold on top of Standard and above, and Sprout doesn't publish its price. Vendr reports that Listening can double or triple a contract and puts the median total Sprout contract at $18,980 a year. The 30-day free trial reportedly doesn't include Listening.

Sprout bought NewsWhip for $55 million in July 2025, and NewsWhip's CEO now runs the listening business, so news coverage should get better. Right now, per Sprout's support docs, it reads X, public Facebook pages, Instagram business posts with hashtags (no comments), YouTube titles and descriptions, Reddit, Tumblr, Bluesky and the web. Review sites are excluded, and there's no AI answer tracking.

Customers: Kraft Heinz, DoorDash, Glassdoor, Grammarly. Founded 2010 by Justyn Howard, Aaron Rankin, Gil Lara and Peter Soung. G2 about 4.4 from roughly 6,900 reviews.

YouScan: Best for Logo and Image Recognition

YouScan is a social listening platform founded in Kyiv in 2009 whose Visual Insights feature detects logos, objects and scenes in images, catching mentions where nobody typed your name. YouScan claims that surfaces 80% more brand mentions. It's built for consumer brands whose customers post photos more often than they write reviews.

Starter costs $499 a month billed annually for 3 topics, 15,000 mentions and unlimited users. Visual Insights and audience demographics only come with the custom-priced Unlimited plans, so the feature you'd buy it for isn't on the entry tier. There's no self-serve trial either, only a demo account.

Coverage is strong for consumer categories: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit, Telegram, forums and review sites like Tripadvisor and Booking.com. Insights Copilot answers questions about your mention data in plain English. Review summaries on SaaSworthy point to sentiment errors and limited history.

Customers: Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Vodafone, Ogilvy UK. Founded by Alex Orap. G2 about 4.7 from roughly 300 reviews.

BrandMentions: Best for Podcast and Review Site Mentions

BrandMentions is a Romanian brand monitoring tool from the team behind cognitiveSEO that picks up spoken mentions in podcasts and videos through transcripts, alongside social, news and review sites. It's a good fit for SaaS and app companies that care about Google Business Profile, app store and podcast mentions.

Starter costs $79 a month billed annually or $99 billed quarterly, for 5 keywords and 5,000 mentions. There's no month-to-month option, which is annoying if you only want to test it. Pro is $249 a month annually for 20 keywords and 30,000 mentions, there are no overage charges, and the trial lasts seven days.

The cognitiveSEO roots show in the SEO angle, and sentiment runs on an LLM that tags 12-plus emotions. Capterra reviewers mention a learning curve on the Boolean settings, X coverage hurt by API changes, and roughly 12 months of history on most plans.

Customers: iProspect, eToro, McCann, Mondly. Founded 2015 by Razvan Gavrilas. G2 about 4.9 from roughly 240 reviews.

Mention: Best for Review Sites and Broadcast Coverage

Mention is a Paris-built brand monitoring tool that reads mentions from more than a billion sources a day, including 75-plus review sites and US and Canadian radio and TV. Agorapulse bought it in 2025, and it now suits teams that want review and broadcast coverage inside the Agorapulse social suite.

Buy it with your eyes open. As of July 1, 2026, Mention is no longer sold as a standalone product, and new customers get it as Agorapulse Listening. The old $41 to $179 self-serve plans went in 2025. The last published price, $599 a month billed yearly for 5 alerts and 50,000 mentions, came off the pricing page in July 2026, so expect a sales call.

The product itself still holds up. Boolean alerts run up to 2,000 characters, spike alerts flag sudden jumps, and a daily AI summary rolls up what happened. Capterra reviewers complain about weak Facebook and Instagram coverage, and TikTok matching only reads video descriptions.

Customers: Edelman, Spendesk, Hunter.io, Kajabi. Founded 2012 by Matthieu Vaxelaire and Arnaud Le Blanc. G2 about 4.3 from roughly 440 reviews.

Semrush Brand Monitoring: Best for Teams Already Using Semrush

Semrush sells brand monitoring as a $79-a-month app in its App Center, built with its PR subsidiary Prowly, that tracks news, blogs, forums and four social networks. It's the simplest option for SEO teams who already live in Semrush and want mentions next to their keyword and backlink data.

The $79 covers 3 queries and up to 10,000 mentions, with add-ons reaching 15 queries and 120,000 mentions for another $120 a month. That's thin next to the standalone tools, though the trial is seven days. AI answer tracking is a separate product: the AI Visibility toolkit costs $99 a month per domain and covers ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. The AI PR toolkit adds media monitoring from $279 a month.

The app reads news, blogs, discussions, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with sentiment in 100-plus languages that you can correct by hand. Three separately priced products for overlapping jobs is confusing, and stacking them gets expensive fast. Adobe completed its roughly $1.9 billion purchase of Semrush in April 2026.

Founded 2008 by Oleg Shchegolev and Dmitri Melnikov, headquartered in Boston. G2 4.4 from about 4,000 reviews.

Ahrefs tracks new web mentions of your brand through Ahrefs Alerts, and how AI assistants mention you through Brand Radar. It only reads pages its own crawler finds, so it won't replace social listening, but it's the best choice for SEO teams turning unlinked mentions into backlinks.

Mention alerts need the Standard plan at $249 a month, which includes 15 of them. Starter and Lite include none. Alerts arrive daily or weekly and filter by language, excluded domains, domain rating and traffic, so scraper sites are easy to ignore. Brand Radar's AI indexes cost $199 a month per platform or $699 for all of them, covering AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok.

Brand Radar's index holds more than 481 million prompts, so you can look up any brand's AI visibility, competitors included, without setting up a project first. The weak spot is speed. A daily email works for link reclamation and is far too slow when a customer complaint is going viral.

Founded 2010 by Dmitry Gerasimenko, headquartered in Singapore and bootstrapped. Ahrefs says marketers at 44% of the Fortune 500 use it. G2 about 4.5 from roughly 710 reviews.

Syften: Best for SaaS and Developer Communities

Syften is a community monitoring tool run by Kraków-based Michał Mazurek, a former OpenBSD developer, that watches Reddit, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, Product Hunt, GitHub, Slack communities and more. Its Reddit alerts aim to arrive within a minute, which makes it the best pick for SaaS founders who sell to developers.

Entry costs $29.95 a month for 3 community filters and 100 results a day. Standard, at $49.95, raises that to 20 filters and adds Slack delivery and AI filtering, and PRO at $119.95 adds webhooks and an MCP server. X costs another $40 a month and YouTube $20. The 14-day PRO trial shows the last 60 days of mentions straight away, so you'll know within minutes whether it's useful.

PostHog's James Hawkins and RevenueCat's Jacob Eiting are among the founders quoted on its site. But it's a one-person business with no sentiment dashboards and no AI answer tracking, so treat it as a second tool next to a broader one. If Reddit is a big channel for you, it pairs well with one of the Reddit marketing agencies I've reviewed.

Customers: PostHog, RevenueCat, Rewardful. Operating since 2019 and bootstrapped. One review on G2.

Google Alerts: Best Free Starting Point

Google Alerts is Google's free mention tracker, running since 2003, that emails you when new pages matching your keywords enter Google's index. It covers news, blogs, web pages, video and discussions. It's the right first step for a startup with no budget, and the wrong last step for anyone else.

Setup takes two minutes. You pick a frequency (as it happens, daily or weekly), sources, language and region, and whether you want "only the best results" or everything. There's no social coverage, no sentiment and no history, and Reddit results are hit and miss.

Its reliability problems are old and documented. In 2013 Google admitted Alerts wasn't "as comprehensive as we'd like," and Forbes ran a piece headlined "'Google Alerts' Are Broken," both noted on its Wikipedia page. Use it, but don't read a quiet inbox as proof nobody's talking about you.

Free with any Google account. No G2 listing.

Free Brand Monitoring Tools Worth Using

Two free brand monitoring tools are worth setting up today, and neither replaces a paid one. Google Alerts covers the web. F5Bot emails you when your keyword appears on Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters, and it says it sends over 430,000 alerts a day. Its free tier is free forever, with Silver ($9.99 a month) and Gold ($49.99) if you need more keywords, AI filtering or Slack delivery.

Beyond those, the trials do the job of a free plan. Syften's 14-day trial backfills 60 days of mentions, and Brand24 and Mentionlytics both run 14-day trials without a card, which is long enough to see what's being said about you right now.

What you won't find is a free tool that covers Instagram, TikTok or Facebook. Social data costs money to collect, and nobody gives it away.

Brand Monitoring in AI Search: What Classic Tools Miss in 2026

Classic brand monitoring tools read what people publish. They don't see what ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews say about you when a buyer asks for a recommendation, because those answers are generated on the fly and never posted anywhere. Six tools on this list now track AI answers in some form: Brand24, Mentionlytics, Meltwater, Brandwatch, Semrush and Ahrefs.

The two jobs feed each other. AI answers lean on what the web already says about you, so the mentions your monitoring tool finds are partly the raw material those answers get built from. Tim Soulo of Ahrefs put the monitoring side plainly:

“You just need to see like where your competitors are mentioned, where you are mentioned, where your industry is mentioned.”

Tim Soulo

CMO, Ahrefs

Source →

If AI search is your main worry, a bolt-on probably won't be enough. Dedicated trackers run hundreds of prompts and report which pages get cited. And if you'd rather someone else work on what those answers say, the GEO agencies I've reviewed do it as a service.

Monitoring only tells you where you're already mentioned, though. Getting mentioned on the sites AI answers pull from is a separate job, and it's the one SAASY LINKS sells as a brand mentions service, from $1,500 a month.

How to Choose Brand Monitoring Software for Your Team

Pick by budget first, then by the one source you can't afford to miss.

Under $100 a month, start with Awario or Mentionlytics for broad coverage, or Syften if your buyers live on Reddit and Hacker News. BrandMentions at $79 is the pick if podcasts and app reviews matter more than X.

Between $200 and $700 a month, Brand24 is the default. Ahrefs Standard makes more sense if mentions are mainly an SEO input for you, and YouScan if your customers post photos of your product.

Above that, you're choosing between Brandwatch, Meltwater and Lumen by Talkwalker, and the deciding factor is usually who reads the reports. PR teams lean toward Meltwater for its journalist database. Research teams lean toward Brandwatch for its archive.

Two things I'd avoid. The first is running a brand on Google Alerts alone past the first few months. It misses social entirely and catches Reddit unevenly, so the mentions most likely to hurt you are the ones it's worst at finding.

The second is buying an enterprise listening suite before anyone has time to read it. A $25,000 Meltwater contract with nobody assigned to triage alerts is a very expensive weekly email. Whoever owns brand monitoring should have it in their job description, with a response time for negative mentions, before you sign anything annual.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best brand monitoring tools in 2026?

Brand24 is the best all-round brand monitoring tool in 2026, covering 25 million sources from $199 a month on annual billing. Mentionlytics ($49 a month) and Awario ($29 a month) are the best budget picks, while Brandwatch and Meltwater lead for enterprise teams.

How much do brand monitoring tools cost in 2026?

Self-serve brand monitoring software costs $29 to $700 a month, from Awario's Starter plan to Brand24's Business plan. Enterprise platforms are quote-only, and Vendr data puts median annual contracts at $13,298 for Talkwalker, $25,800 for Meltwater and $50,000 for Brandwatch.

Is there a free brand monitoring tool?

Google Alerts is the best free option, covering web pages, news and blogs in Google's index. F5Bot adds free Reddit and Hacker News alerts. Neither covers Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, so neither works as a complete setup.

What is the difference between brand monitoring and social listening?

Brand monitoring tracks individual mentions as they happen so you can respond, while social listening analyzes those mentions over months to find trends in sentiment and share of voice. Brandwatch and Meltwater do both, while Google Alerts and Syften only monitor.
